With so many books hitting the shelves every week we take a look at what we consider to be the 'Picks of the Week' whether it be for speculation, a good read or both. This week isn't what we'd consider to be an amazing week for speculation but there are a couple of books to keep an eye on.....  Harley's Little Black Book #6 Bisley 1:25 Variant Cover We kick this week off with a 1:25 variant. Whilst it's not hard to track down at present it's one to keep an eye on. A Harley cover with Lobo in the background this is a nice looking cover and is likely to be on a few peoples want lists.  WWE Wrestlemania Special #1 Adam X Vass Fight Card Variant Incase your not a wrestling fan or if your just a casual watcher of the brand this weekend is the yearly spectacle which is Wrestlemania. This week sees the release of a Wrestlemania special. There are a couple of covers to choose from including this Fight card variant with Razor Ramon and HBK headlining in a cover nod to their legendary ladder match.  Heathen #2 Our last pick is actually a book released last week but it's on Forbidden Planet for purchase this week (read that again) I'd imagine this will follow suit as per most stores last week and sell out quick so don't delay on this one. With so many books hitting the shelves every week we take a look at what we consider to be the 'Picks of the Week' whether it be for speculation, a good read or both. This week sees a nice mix of books to choose from but it's the variant covers which will no doubt be in demand - below are the ones we are putting a focus on trying to obtain.....  Elektra #2 (Granov Variant Cover)Undoubtably the in demand cover of the week and likewise the pick of the week is this Granov Elektra #2 cover. This book is a 1:25 variant so expect this to be at the top of people's shopping lists come Wednesday and equally a book that has potential to hold value long term.  WWE #3 Ric Flair Massafera Virgin Variant Those who have been keeping tabs on the WWE comic market will know that issue #2 of this series had a print run of approx 10,826 meaning the 1:50 Bret Hart variant was limited to approx 200 copies. Issue #3 sees Nature Boy Ric Flair get the virgin cover treatment so expect this book to be a tough one to track down. Another great cover.  Reborn #5 It's fair to say that Image are on fire at the moment with a number of titles that have caught on in spectacular fashion. One of our favourites has to be Reborn. The book is a fantastic read and not one to be missed. There are a mix of covers available however you can pick up the regular cover A below. Reborn #5 Cover A  Curse Words #3 Another Image hit - this time in the guise of Curse Words. This Charles Soule book is getting good reviews and issue #1 is on its 3rd printing. You can still grab issues 1 & 2 right now so it's not to late to get onboard with this series...... Grab issue #3 below - Curse Words #3 Cover A So there you have it - Picks of the Week done......
Just to note - Image have a new title out this week in Underwinter #1 - keep on eye on this incase it blows up like Seven to Eternity or God Country (it seems Image #1's are the hot thing right now)  This could be something - or this could be nothing however in the last few issues of the Walking Dead we've been seeing glimpses of a Savior by the name of John - and the eagle eyed of you out there will no doubt have noticed he's been popping up on the covers for future issues. To avoid any spoilers we'd encourage you to check out the Whiperer War Arc however it seems like John is set for a little bit of involvement.....  As you will see from Issue #165 (above) and Issue #166 (below) John gets 2 x cover appearances.  Whether this is the only spot we will see him on or if there is something bigger behind this only time will tell - however he's got the look of a Walking Dead antagonist about him that's for sure. The question however is what's his first appearance. The answer to that is Issue #104.  His appearances are limited right now but he's one to keep a watch on incase there is future development for him.

Death of Hawkman #6 Bill Sienkiewicz Variant This book is already looking set to be the one everyone wants with pre-sales already way above cover price. A fantastic looking cover expect this to be one of the hot books for this week. Pick up your copy on the link below whist you still can - Death of Hawkman #6 Bill Sienkiewicz Variant  Walking Dead #165 The Walking Dead comic book is very much a staple pick each month. With every issue you get a potential first appearance, a potential death or something that could potentially feature in the TV show. Even if none of the above happen you still have a great read! This issue is entitled 'Opportunity' - and it looks that the Saviours are set to strike! Pick up your copy below - Walking Dead #165  America #1 McKelvie Variant Cover We did a feature a little while back highlighting 'Future Stars of the Comic Book World' and one of these was Miss America Chavez. Check out that article below - Miss America Future Stars The time has come for the own solo series and the book to grab and hold onto for down the line is the McKelvie Variant Cover. Expect this one to be the tougher to find. Regular covers might be worth storing away for down the line also.  Extremity #1 A new Image title which as previous weeks have shown could lead to an in demand hot book. This title is set around Thea who seeks revenge on the clan that ruined her family. Keep an eye on this one as if it proves popular this could potentially vanish quickly. Grab your copy on the link below - Extremity #1  Smoketown #1 The next pick of the week goes to the latest Scout Comics release 'Smoketown' According to the information on the book each chapter explores the final days of a murdered soldier from a new perspective each one exposing the criminal side of a small industrial Pennsylvania town. It sounds an intriguing series so it's worth grabbing a copy to read. Smoketown #1 Also worth watching -
Royal City #1 - Written and illustrated by Jeff Lemire - another new image title that will be worth keeping an eye on..... So there we go - Picks of the Week are in. Spider-Gwen #17 (Jusko Corner Box Variant)Last week we chose the Venom cover as a pick of the Week - this time round its Spider-Gwen who gets the nod from us. All of these Variants should be a good shout for down the line but something jumps out at us for this one. It's already sold out with some stores so keep on eye for this one to potentially move. Grab your copy on the link below - Spider-Gwen #17 (Jusko Corner Box Variant)  Curse Words #2Last month Image had another hit on their hands with the fantastic 'Curse Words' - a book that ended up having a selection of #1 covers (the most tricky to find being the glitter cat variant) Issue #2 hits the shelves this week with 3 covers to choose from.
