It’s been a while since we did one of ‘comic picks of the week’ posts. First up - thanks for the messages asking for them to come back. With the requests for these to become a feature again we figured it would be rude not to. With January nearly over this week sees a nice mix of ‘in demand’ books - and variants take the majority of our selections. So for the first time in 2018 we make our ‘Comic Picks of the Week’ Justice League of America #23 Cover B Mahnke Variant Some of the hottest books of 2017 were the DC B Cover variants and 2018 seems set to continue that trend. This Mahnke variant is already being snapped up online in advance. Featuring several characters on the cover this is one to be looking out for! Grab your copy below - Justice League of America #23 Cover B Avengers #677 Cover B Ribic Variant Last week one of the hot books was the regular Avengers #676 Cover with the character Voyager making an appearance. This week the heat will continue but we are calling the Ribic variant as the one to grab. Pick up your copy below - Avengers #677 Cover B Ribic Variant Legion #1 Cover B Sienkiewicz Variant Let’s face it - Bill Sienkiewicz just keeps creating winners - and this one seems set to continue the trend. A variant cover - and a #1 would suggest this will be a hit. Grab your copy below - Legion #1 Cover B Variant Marvel Two-in-One #2 Cover B Dell Otto Variant You know at the start we said this was a variant week - we weren’t lying. Want to know what always looks good? A Del Otto cover that’s what!! Expect people to start hunting this one down come Wednesday. Available for cover price this is an easy pick up. Grab your copy below - Marvel Two-in-One #2 Dell Otto Variant Thanos #15 Last up we have a regular cover in our picks. The Thanos series has been in demand since the first appearance of Cosmic Ghost Rider back in issue #13. Issue #15 has already sold out on various online sources ahead of Wednesday’s release and secondary market demand is set to be high if copies sell out quickly. Grab your copy below - Thanos #15 So there we go - Picks of the Week back and done!
Happy Comic Hunting! With so many books hitting the shelves every week we take a look at what we consider to be the 'Picks of the Week' whether it be for speculation, a good read or both. This is a fantastic week for comics - we get more black and white Image covers - a new character in a Marvel title and #2 of a new Image hit to name but a few. Here are our 'Picks of the Week' redNeCk #2If you've not checked out issue #1 of this title then your in luck as the second printing hits this week so there's no excuse not to read it!! A solid debut with its captivating vampire story line makes this a must get this week. Expect this to vanish! Grab your copy below - Redneck #2 Seven to Eternity #6 Spawn Month Black & White Variant These Black & White covers have been hot - last weeks God Country is fine testament to that - however this week sees one of the hottest books around Seven to Eternity get the Spawn cover treatment - and you know that equals an instant in demand title. If you see this in stores grab a copy or pick one up below - Seven to Eternity #6 Spawn Month B&W Variant Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur #19 Last up in our picks comes Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur. There is a 1:25 variant for this book that is already red hot - but don't sleep on the regular cover either with a first appearance of Girl-Moon. There's even of question of her relation to Ego the Living Planet however that's not confirmed. The run on Moon Girl books have dropped a little but this issue will be popular however still very much in demand. The regular cover can be purchased below - Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #19 There are lots of other picks this week too however that's our 'Top Three'
What's everyone else aiming for? Happy comic hunting everyone! With so many books hitting the shelves every week we take a look at what we consider to be the 'Picks of the Week' whether it be for speculation, a good read or both. This week we choose a couple of Image titles and a DC variant in our picks. God Country #5 (Spawn Month B&W variant) Our first pick this week goes to the super hot Image title God Country. We get 4 covers to choose from this week but our nod goes to the Spawn Month Black & White variant which is already looking to be the pick of the covers. God Country is an in demand book - issues 1,2,3 & 4 have already seen numerous reprints and there is every chance this will go the same way. Be sure to get on this early before it vanishes off the shelves. Pick up your copy below - God Country #5 (Spawn Month B&W variant) Grrl Scouts Magic Socks #1 (Spawn Month B&W variant) You'll note a bit of a theme with these Black & White variants over the next few weeks and we went with this one given it's a '#1' and it's an Image book. Already sold out in some areas this might be the cover to get. Grrl Scouts aren't new to the comic book world but expect there to be plenty of early interest in this under the Image banner. Grab your copy below - Grrl Scouts Magic Socks #1 (Spawn Month B&W variant) Harley Quinn #20 Cover B Cho Variant Cover Last up this week comes a DC Cover. These Cho covers have proved popular with fans as have the demand of what seem to be lesser ordered Cover B books. This cover is our wild card of the week - classic Harley in a unique cover but one we plan to grab and hold onto. Get your copy below - Harley Quinn #20 Cover B Cho Variant Cover So these we have it - another weeks picks done..... happy comic hunting everyone!
With so many books hitting the shelves every week we take a look at what we consider to be the 'Picks of the Week' whether it be for speculation, a good read or both. This week we may see a new Batman character introduced, we also get another new Image title along with a new book from Scout Comics. All-Star Batman #10Our first pick this week goes to All-Star Batman #10. Why? Simple - there are rumours that a new character is introduced this week. If this is the case then it's worth a pick up as you never know where this might lead. First Appearances may take years to take off - some may fail never to be seen again - however if the runours are true get a couple of copies and stash them away! There are 3 covers for this issue. Personally our favourite is the Fiumara cover - grab your copy on the link below - All-Star Batman #10 Mindbender #1Scout Comics have had some fantastic titles as of late and this week sees the latest release - Mindbender. It has the hallmarks of your classic comic book storyline - lead character seeing parents deaths after his own mind taps into an unknown powerful force at the age of 7. He didn't say a word or have a voluntary movement for 16 years - until now..... The print run may not be huge on this so don't sleep on this title - well worth a look at! Also - for note it has 3 x covers. Grab Cover A below - Mindbender #1 Regression #1Last up this week - but by no means least comes Regression - a new Image title. This book already has a buzz around it and there are 3 covers to choose from - the regular cover, a Spawn variant and a Spawn black & white variant. Some shops are already showing as out of stock on this title so there is a very high chance that this will be one of the books to find. If it takes off then your onto a winner. Image #1 titles are always worth grabbing. You might end up with a hot book that's a good read - or you might end up with just the good read - either way - win/win. Grab your copy of the regular cover below - Regression #1 So there we have it - Picks done once again! Have a great week everyone!
