With it being Star Wars Day (May 4th) I figured I'd make a post about the fantastic action figure variant covers of the Star Wars comic line. Released earlier this year these variants of the comics have proved very successful with collectors and fans alike with high prices being reached for certain issues. When a new issue of the Star Wars comic is released the figure variants are the ones on top of my list - and I think you'll agree putting them all together gives quite an impressive image. Interestingly in the last few weeks a couple of other 'rarer' versions of these comics have been released. Firstly artist John Tyler Christopher released a Boba Fett version of Star Wars #4 that was limited to just 5000 copies. Needless to say this sold out within just 2 days of being on sale - and the outcome now is high prices being asked for on auction sites. And then just last week a C2E2 sketch variant of issue 1 was released - rumoured to be limited to just a few hundred copies. There are bound to be more added to the series and I for one intend to pick them up.
For now it seems the ones to get are - Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Boba Fett and Darth Vader! If you should stumble across them at a low price grab them! These covers are a great nod to the classic figures - and a great collectible for any Star Wars fan!
