This week starts what I hope will become a regular feature on my site where I choose my comic picks of the week - whether it be for speculation or for reading. Looking over the books released this week I've highlighted 3 that I think have potential. Star Wars #7 - John Tyler Christopher Action Figure Variant Cover Regular visitors to this site will know I'm a big fan of the Star Wars Action Figure Variant run. This week sees a Stormtrooper cover come into the fold. These covers rarely stick around for long - and I had this issue down as a hot comic just the other week. I will personally be picking up several of these for my collection. This particular issue is set to centre around a one-off tale on Ben Kenobi. You can still get these at cover now from Forbidden Planet on the link below - Sex Criminals #11 - Regular Cover Much like Star Wars #7 this was a book I recommended picking up some time back. What's really intriguing about this book is that the regular covers will come polybagged with 1000 blank covers being thrown into the print run randomly that will feature a sketch by Chip Zdarsky & Matt Fraction. Because of this demand is high as people chance trying to find one! I've ordered a number of these with the hope of tracking a sketch down! It's not to late to get in on the mix with Forbidden Planet still taking pre-orders on the link below. If you do pull a sketch cover out let me know in the comments section! The Shrinking Man #1 Last but not least this week comes 'The Shrinking Man' This book is a outside bet for me personally but it would seem to have been a popular choice in the U.S. Market already and steady sales are being recorded. With a regular cover and a couple of variants to pick up I will probably only get a couple of copies of each. Forbidden Planet still has these up for pre-order - the link for the variant cover is below. So that concludes my 'Picks of the Week' - there are no guarantees these will go up in value - but look at the worst case scenario you get a good read! Happy New Comic Book Day for tomorrow everyone!

A comic that sold out everywhere just 2 weeks ago was the excellent Rivers of London #1. Copies of this issue are now hitting anywhere between £15 and £25 on the secondary market and with this in mind Rivers of London #2 could be worth pre-ordering just incase the demand continues..... I have placed a couple of orders on Forbidden Planet already - they are still accepting pre-orders right now (27th July) but previously #1 had advance orders stopped early. You have until August 19th at the moment but it might be worth getting in early on the chance lighting strikes twice..... Don't be left out this time around - it's a great read! The link to pre-order is below - This week sees the continuation of the Star Wars comic book series with issue number 7 being released. As always the cover to get is the Action Figure Variant which this time round features a Stormtrooper on the front. The action figure covers continue to sell out each time they are released and this one will be no different. At time of writing (26th July) Forbidden Planet is still accepting pre-orders on this variant version - the link to order your copy is below - Don't miss out as they probably won't stay around for long! There were a handful of comics released this week that I considered to have potential to jump in value whether it be long term or short term. My picks included - Book of Death : Legends of Geomancer #1 Guardians of Knowhere #1 Gwenom Variant But my top pick for this week was - Rivers of London #1 This comic is already heating up with the regular cover selling for as high as £14.95. The 1:10 variant is already starting to prove even more illusive with some copies having a £49.95 price tag. Whether or not this comic has longevity remains to be seen but it was the one to get for me this week! ***** I've had a read and it's fantastic - and I will be grabbing issue 2 for sure. Find these whilst you can as they won't be about for long! Some awesome news for Back to the Future fans today! Back to the Future is coming back - in comic form! IDW are set to release a comic book series on October 21st 2015 (yes that is the 2015 date Marty and Doc travel forward to in Part 2) which will tell a selection of stories - including how Marty and Doc first met each other!
