After writing up last weeks post from a scorching hot Italy this week I'm back home in a much cooler (and very cloudy) England. This week in the comic book world gives us a nice range of choices - so without further ado below are my 'Picks of the Week' Hip Hop Family Tree #1 First up this week comes Hip Hop Family Tree which sees the New York Times best selling book series move into the world of comics in this new monthly series. Issue number 1 is set to highlight the DJs and MCs who formed the Hip Hop Culture in the 1970's. This should be an interesting series and with it being a #1 it's worth picking up a couple as these could grow in value in the future. Copies can be picked up at present on the link below - Archie #2 My second pick of the week comes in the form of Archie. Archie #1 was a monster hit with the regular Fiona Staples cover selling for 2/3 times the cover price on the secondary market. This second issue sees a selection of covers to choose from once again - and I've gone with the regular Staples version in my choice of pick up. Archie seems to me personally to be more in demand in the U.S. market - but none the less long term collecting wise these are great books to buy - worse case scenario you get all the latest from Riverdale to read. These are readily available to purchase on the link below - Rivers of London #2 When Issue #1 was released a few weeks back it was a monster hit with both readers and speculators alike. Copies were seeing prices as high as £20 on the secondary market as people scrambled to secure the first issue. Whilst I don't see this one being as in demand I do still see it being a major hit. As we continue with the adventures of Peter Grant this is one book that gives the mix of a great story and the potential to increase in value over the coming years. I recommended this book a few weeks back - and stand by that recommendation still! Grab your issue of this comic below - Star Wars #8 Christopher Action Figure Variant Last up in my 'Key Picks' this week will come as no surprise to regular readers of my posts - it's Star Wars Action Figure Variant time. This time round sees a Tusken Raider grace the cover. Everytime a new Star Wars comic comes out its worth picking up - for starters you might see a new character introduced - secondly these Action Figure covers will be in demand for years to come - it's a win win situation. Pre order on Forbidden Planet for this book is closed right now but keep checking back as it's not unusual for them to put more issues on - Grab these whilst you can - I will be picking up 5 of this cover! So that's it for my picks this week other notable mentions if you have the cash include - Oxymoron : Loveliest Nightmare #1 As mentioned at the start - a ton of choice this week! Happy Comic Book Hunting!!
